Centra Credit Union is dedicated to a philosophy of People Helping People. In that spirit Centra Credit Union established the Centra Foundation.  Centra Foundation will offer additional support to communities where  Centra members and employees live and/or work.  The foundation is Centered on Caring and will work with local organizations to help meet the needs of their communities.

Centra Foundation provides funding support within three main areas of focus:

Financial Literacy – Due to its financial heritage Centra has a strong belief in the importance of financial education.  The foundation will support programs and initiatives that provide educational opportunities to children and adults that will develop and strengthen money-management skills and provide a pathway to self-sufficiency.

The Loretta M. Burd Scholarship Program –The foundation provides scholarships to graduating high school seniors and adults pursuing a college degree.  The foundation supports the Outstanding Student of Finance Award at IUPUC.

Disaster Relief - Centra Foundation will provide funding support to communities within Centra's Field of Membership.

Centra Foundation will also consider funding within a secondary focus area:

Pressing Community Needs - Each of communities where Centra members live and work have distinct needs.  The foundation will support collaborative efforts to address local needs.

The Centra Foundation recognizes the importance of philanthropy in strengthening communities and addressing community needs. The Foundation extends the Credit Union’s focus of supporting members’ individual financial needs to build resources to support community needs.  The Foundation invites Centra employees and members as well as area residents and organizations to join with us to strengthen and improve our communities.
